This form can be used to request Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Services from the Disabilities Services Center (DSC). If you have any questions or concerns, please contact DSC Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services by emailing dscdhh@uci.edu.
Please utilize this form:
1) If you are a student registered with the DSC who is requesting approved DHH Services for a course or academic requirement.
REMINDER - If you have not been approved for the DHH Accommodation(s), please schedule an appointment and meet with your DSC Counselor before submitting this form.
2) To inquire about DHH Services and Accommodations for campus or UCI-Affiliated group events. (Ex. Orientation, Townhall, Workshops, etc.) This part of the form is open to guests, visitors, parents, students, and departments within UCI, but events must be UCI-affiliated.
Types of Accommodations Available
American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter(s) - Professionals who use ASL and spoken English to bridge the communication gap between hearing and Deaf or hard of hearing people. For events 2 hours or longer or with complex content, 2 interpreters may be required.
Real-Time Captioning (CART) - Professionals who provide live captions of speech (spoken words and relevant sounds) as text to be displayed for the user. Transcripts are available to the user.
Assistive Listening Devices (ALD) - Equipment that amplifies sound directly to the user.
